Why This Check Matters?
Photoelectric alarms detect smoke early. Interconnected alarms alert everyone at once.
That’s what saves lives. Most homes we visit are either missing alarms or using outdated ionisation models that no longer meet the rules.
This check gives you peace of mind — and a plan if you’re not compliant yet.

Queensland Smoke Alarm Law Overview
Queensland smoke alarm legislation now requires:
-
Photoelectric smoke alarms only (no ionisation)
-
Interconnected alarms throughout the home
-
Installed in every bedroom, hallway, and on each level
-
Must be either hardwired or powered by a 10-year non-removable battery
-
All alarms must be under 10 years old
These laws already apply to rental properties and homes being sold — but even if you're not leasing or selling, it pays to be protected.
